The Methodology Behind Everything I Do

Reكن

A method for rebuilding the self — not managing its symptoms.

The world is very good at pulling you away from yourself.

Modern life promises freedom and quietly delivers something else. It lifts you out of the culture, the relationships, and the meaning that shaped who you are, and hands you back an identity built mostly to consume. You can succeed on paper and still feel further from yourself than you've ever been. That disconnection isn't a personal failure. It's the design — and once you see it, you can't unsee it.

Reconstruction doesn't soothe that. It rebuilds.

Most approaches help you cope with a self that has already come apart — they manage the symptoms. Reconstruction works one level deeper. It rebuilds your identity from the ground up, so it's solid enough to actually hold a life. The name carries the whole idea: Re-, again; kun, become. Where a century of thought went into taking the self apart, this method is built to put it back together — deliberately, and on purpose.

The Two Pillars

Pillar I

Emotional Identity · الهوية العاطفية

The root.

Reconstruction begins from one claim: almost every problem you'll face — in love, at work, inside your own head — traces back to a single place, your emotional identity. Treat the symptom and it returns. Rebuild the identity and the symptom loses its source. So that's where the work starts.

Pillar II

The Self-Return · دوران حول الذات

The movement.

Like a planet held by gravity, you have a true centre you keep orbiting — and keep getting pulled away from. The Self-Return is the disciplined return to that centre. Not a single insight you have once, but a way of moving through your life.

I don't keep you in the room.

This is not open-ended therapy, and it isn't motivational coaching. A Reconstruction consultant intervenes directly and takes responsibility for the result. There is a method, there are steps, and there is an end point — the point where you no longer need me.

"Most therapy keeps people dependent. I build people who don't need me anymore."
— Ahmad Youssef

A serious foundation, made livable.

Reconstruction sits on real intellectual ground — continental philosophy and psychosocial theory, the work of thinkers like Lacan, Foucault, and Bourdieu — but it doesn't leave you in the seminar room. The whole point is to translate that depth into something you can actually live, decide with, and build on.

One method, several doors in.

Reكن is the engine beneath everything at BANN. You can meet it directly in a one-to-one session, or train in it formally and learn to practise it for others.
