Deep into that long journey, Ahmad Youssef began asking his critical questions about society and the self — and about the role of the therapist and psychosocial consultant in intervening, and how far that intervention can actually reach. One question sat underneath all the others: why are we, as therapists and psychosocial consultants, not allowed to intervene and offer methodical solutions that help people move past their problems in practice?
And among the many philosophies — structuralism, Lacanian psychoanalysis, deconstruction and postmodern thought — his own new philosophy and theory were born: the philosophy of Reconstruction, which carves its own path toward rebuilding individuals and communities in their relationships, their essence, and their role in life. A new philosophy and methodology that opens the horizon for continuous thinking and for the ongoing search for what a human being truly means.

BANN (بان) is named for a rare desert tree — known for its flexibility, its ability to adapt and grow fast within changing conditions, and for the orange and blue flowers it produces in spring. The bann tree is the real meaning of the mission BANN carries: the work re-creates people — rebuilding them so they can grow and adapt in any environment, and blossom in many colors.
BANN Training & Consultancy has operated in Clémenceau, Beirut since 2009.
